Hi all just purchased my first caravan and it has black streaks on it so I went and got a bottle of Fenwick’s black streak remover and it basically isn’t removing the black streaks not touching them at all, so my question is should I bother with Fenwick’s caravan cleaner or just get a good wax.

Also what is the best thing for trying to revitalize the grp it is looking a bit lack luster what would help this to look better.

Hi Dazzer.

Did you do as it says on the bottle?   Ive used this before and has worked every time. If the streak has been there for a good while let it sit a while.

Sorry to hear that, I can only speak from experience. I had an ABI Tristar, had been living unmoved in forest for 3 years, the cleaner brought it up a treat.

Im sure Mr F will along soon to help out.

Hi Dazzer12,

Read the instructions carefully, and do as it says on the bottle..........I found that stubborn streaks might take 2 applications and a little elbow grease, but fenwicks has worked perfectly for me, and I would not use anything else!

Thx all i followed the instructions on the bottle and alowed it to soak which did not seem to work,  i tried again by applying and cleaning straight off and it does seem to have removed the worst of it now it is just for the rest of the van.

On the grp it has green spots all over it and the rest of the van genral grime would caravan cleaner help with this?

When you try and remove black streaks with polish all you are doing is diluting the polish and spreading it round very very thinly thereby giving the polish a bit more body. i.e. greyer. If you think I’m jesting just rub a little cleaner into a well polished area where every one can see it and stand back, the cleaned area will stand out like a sore thumb (serves you right for being a sceptic) now you will have to do the whole van, that’s of course if you REALLY do want a Bobby Dazzler.---------the trouble starts at the PDI stage, you might not have used a polish but the dealer  has,  it might be the case that the unit has never been cleaned properly, in other words bottomed. Cheers  OMF

I have always been vehemently opposed to manufacturers advertising their products on open, and free, forums such as this one.

However, after more than 40 years of many cars and caravans I have only recently used the dreaded 'F' products.

The result is that my cars and caravan are cleaner than ever before, and with so little effort that I still can't believe it.

This is my last comment on this subject, I shall now go and eat my hat

Dazzler

Yes I would go for it

TIP  For squashed on flies and heavy green mould, roll up a pair of old tights, they give fine abrasion to assist with elbow work.
