Hi currently have a folding camper but thinking about changing to caravan. Never had a caravan before. From reading the forum it seems that for better value for money to go second hand. The problem is finding the right one. Currently have three children who are growing very quickly so i suspect that a 6 berth would be best as the 5 berth with the bunk over the double in the rear seems a bit unsecure and as my son at 11 is already 5ft 4 wouldnt last that long and he wouldnt want to share with his sisters. As we use the X5 to tow i think im right that would not have problem in towing any caravan. Any help and advice appreciated.
Hi - Your X5 will tow any road legal van. Visit dealers, get caravan magazines & see which layout suits you. Its a good time of the year to get excellent value on s/h vans

6 berths are a good use of space, after the kids bedtime most of the caravan is still open for use unlike 5 berths where you lose nearly half the floor space.
Be carefull of the upper bunks dimensions and weight limits, as some are fairly low.
Take a look at the twin axles. They will give you more length and with a large family, I'm sure you'll appreciate the extra space. We've got one for 3 of us and we love it.
