Our 1996 Bailey has got spongy floor, it's all the way down the van. We thought of repairing it from the inside. It will mean cutting out the carpet as it has been fitted before all of the seating fittings were fitted on top of it. This will then mean getting a new carpet. Has anyone repaired a spongy floor this way and how did you manage with getting a new carpet. Thanks

Hi Bev and Deb.

Welcome to UKCS

I repaired a long stretch down the centre of my old ABI Tristar.

Its called delamination

I too had to cut out the old carpet, if you do it carefuly you can use that as a templett to cut out the new one.

Someone with basic DIY skills can carry out this repair. Im searching for links so you can look at for pointers

Look through some of these click on the red letters.

The packs normally cost abot £50 but they dont go far, if you measure the area to be repaired the suppliers will give you a general idea of amount required.

Unfortunately its down to how much you like the van

Good luck
