Hiya.

After coming home from a fantastic, great jolly holly, (can you tell we enjoyed it!) we have noticed that the sink waste pipe is giving off a really bad smell. I've read before that the pipes used are prone to getting the odd baked bean stuck, and I apologise that I can't find that thread again.

Can anyone advise how to wash it through? I've tried filling bowls of water and 'swishing' it down the plug as fast as I can but the smell remains.

OH pours neat bleach straight down the plughole and leaves it to stand for a while.  Then flushes with hot water.  Best to avoid the bleach coming into contact with sink surfaces.

I use fenwicks fendox

I close off the outlet and pour fendox down the drain neat, leave it for ten minutes and then open the outlet and flush with hot water. works every time.

dont forget when on site once you put your waste pipe on and into the waste master then any smell in the waste master will travel up through the pipes and give off that lovely foist smell so we use a drop of zoflora in the waste master and that helps sort the smell also flush the pipes with nice hot soapy water then leave for 10 mins then lush with cold water and any deposits in the pipe will be cleaned away
