Hi Folks,

My brother in law bought a new Burgandy series VI in Feb this year.

He's read reports of Baileys having problems with the Remi skylight coming off in windy conditions.

Practical Caravan have published a couple of letters re this problem.

It is alleged that Bailey are now fitting a modifed version.

Appreciate any views/comments on this one, I've got a worried brother in law !.

Thanks in advance

Regards St Johns Close

Hi, we have this caravan, registered May this year, but ours has a Hekki instead of the Remi. I am assuming you mean the main large one at the front.

We have a small Remis over the cooker area and a small Hekki over the bed.

When we looked at the display model at the dealers it had a Remis, when we got home we read in the brochure that it had a Hekki, so I contacted Bailey via email and they said that it originally had a Remis but they decided to change it for a hekki, I think they said it was in November 2006.

I suggest that your brother contacts the Bailey help line on their web site they are really helpfull.

 Hope this helps, Janx.

yes read this too.bit of worry is it not? most annoying thing is that bailey said it would only replace the remis under warranty and not the damaged cushions in the report i read.the complete cover came of in the wind.i have a fault on our remis and the factory will not talk to non dealers about problems, they just say contact bailey.

We have a Heki rooflight and an Omnivent extractor over the cooker, i did see a report that Bailey were not going to use remis because of problems. Our Burgundy by the way came in january.

yes reading last week at windermere, think it was caravan mag or pc mag not sure, given them to another camper now.read they were in spain and the remis was taken off by cross winds on there bailey and the claim went in and it was reported that bailey would only cough up for the remis not the water damage to the cushions.will look in the caravan to see if i can find it in the mags left.

Hi,

Thanks for all the info, the good news for my brother in law is that his Burgandy has a Helki not a Remis.

Till the next time
