They certainly are........if you chill them first. I usually plug in the electric hook up at home for a few hours before adding the food, this chills the fridge on the 240v. In transit, the car electrics keep it cold, then on site the 240v again, or gas. I find that my caravan fridge (1994 'van) is colder than the house fridge!
