Surfer, why do you think that dealers are always trying to rip you off?

If they couldn't make a fair profit then they wouldn't be in business for very long.

Whilst your on the phone to Trading Standards could you also remind them that T*sco don't give away tin openers with their canned food..... and when you get no joy with them, ring the council and remind them that your toilet hasn't been flushed for a while!!

Nobody is holding a gun to your head and making you buy anything!

LOL saw this rant on another site recently (a forum for caravans that are practical ) it was a pi55 poor rant there and no better here. IIRC it got the same "catch yourself on" response as well.

Hi all you caravanners,

What interesting views you put forward.  I must have been lucky in August 2006. Bought my Piper 12.2 Executive from a dealer in Helston.  Got a good reduction on price quoted and gas bottle, battery awning and step included. They also replaced a damaged "A" frame cover,a new blind and flyscreen new wheels and wheelarch covers and several smaller damaged components. and re enamelled the oven door.

 Sorry After viewing various other vans of the same ilk.  I knew exactly what the going rate for that size and age of Abbey Piper and I would have paid his original asking price but decided to haggle. and feel I got a good deal all round. Have since seen the same type of van at a much higher price.  Anyway I'm happy the dealer was happy. Have been away eleven times this year so already had my monies worth.

I would rather get a really good deal on the basic van and then add the bits I want.  If you have had a van before then you will likely have a lot of stuff, so you don't need all those "extras" anyway!

Our present van came with a hook-up cable, so that will go with it, but otherwise we will be keeping all our equipment for our next van.
