Never had a claim so can not really say, but we are in our second year with them. Have found them easy to deal with and pleasant operators. Price is right, so all in all...... Works for me
hi john we are with caravan guard all ok a the moment but i guess you only find out about insurance companies when you make a claim? and we have not made a claim but there quotes are really good
Many thank's for that but i am still unsure what to do the thing that swing's me to the Carvan Club quote is that if i am taken ill on site they will get my car and caravan home for me, so that's probably worth the extra 70 pound's
thier policy looks really good , just got another quote back from bakers (towergate) they have come in £50 cheaper than caravan guard , give them a call on 0870 998 0288 the policy is the same as caravan guard
I insured our new van with them this year, no request to fit a tracker though.
As for getting you and van home if you're ill - is that a big risk for you? if so then £70 would be worth it. Otherwise you might find you have an equivalent facility on your car insurance.
I was with Caravan Guard last year and they insisted on us fitting an alarm (just a £5 one from Argos!!??), and as it was not behind a locked gate (stored at a friends house in their garden, out of general sight), we had to have a chain and padlock it to a permanent fitting. A right palaver and more messing about on the floor fitting it round the chasis. Re quoted this year, but Caravan Club was a few pounds cheaper and did not insist on the alarm (doesnt work anyway!) and they werent interested in the chain! We have gone with the CC as I just felt happier with the individuals I spoke to.
I have just insured for the first time ( first van) with Caravan guard I was really happy with their price alomst £100 Cheaper than others we have a post and ground anchor and I bought the steady locks so no probs.
I told the woman if they could get it up my drive with that lot on they deserve to keep it.... my drive is like this up hill / lol
