My neighbour has just got hold of an Avondale Malvern 6 berth (about 15 years old) and it has a Carver Cascade 2 water heater in it just like the water heater in my van. In my van I have the option to heat the water by Gas or by electric.  My neighbour cannot find an electric switch so presumes that his heater is Gas only.  I have checked the heater and it looks the same, even the labels on the heater under the seats has the same markings and rating as mine.  Do you think it is possible that this is a Gas only version?

Thanks

David

If it's got electric heating then it must have a white plastic box sticking out the end of the insulation on the end of the water tank?

Good question browningjazz, I am gonna check my own now. I recently baught a Caraven (5 weeks ago) and have only used the heater on Gas, but it keeps going out, and takes some time to relight.

if it has the element fitted then there will be a switch somewhere for it nearby , use your eyes to trace the cable from it to the switch , i found i had a switch fitted on the outside of the storage box for the front seat .

2 handy websites if you have problems with Carver water heaters. Gary of Arc Systems is a really helpful guy. Use of these 2 sites saved me £100.00 + labour + VAT.

Hope it's of use ...
