The wife and I have a Fleetwood Cavandish (4 birth) of the same age and its great, dry as a bone and tows nicely. It's more than a caravan to us, its a friend. Sounds daft I know but we get inside it with the dogs and its 'home' when ever we use it. Mind you at 975 kg, it's lighter than yours. I have not seen any other Fleetwood Cavendish on a dealers or caravan sight and certainly not mentioned on the internet. I did have someone tell me that it was made as a special addition for some company. But, as I said, its bloody brill.
Good luck and regards from Dave N Jan

Oh yes nearly forgot. We tow it with an (01) Citroen C5 2ltr Diesel and it gives us 450 miles to a tank full of juice at the legal limit of 60 mph. I did take it up to just under 70 mph once but chickened out and droped back to my rigid 60 mph.
The Meh'm Sahib and I were in Eglinton Caravans this morning. Saw your van. Looks like you got a good deal there. Congrats and the best of times with it.
Congrats on your new van. We bought our garland about a month ago, 4 berth. It's fab. Went out last weekend down to Torquay, first time towing too. Took it nice and easy and all was ok. We tow with a Zafira 1.9 diesel and had no problems. We paid £4k for ours (1997) off a dealer with 12 mths warranty, so I think you got a good deal.
It's just great not to have to go out in the cold in the middle of the nite for the loo!!!
cheers folks, just got accurate measurements for it and shipping length 18 feet???? hope dealer has got that wrong otherwise it is going to be tighter than a duck's backside in the drive.
so RSM you saw my baby?? where are you from then???
could be right ali as the baby elddis avant is 18 overall and interior wise it is the same layout. just means that mum's micra will have to live outside now as there is no way for it into the garage. both cars are galvanised anyway
it all fits at 18 feet anything less is a bonus, getting bracket done on friday £280 was the best price I could get locally for a good bracket with twin leccy and the alko towball
got bracket fitted on friday £255 for a witter with double leccy, alko towball and cover big thanks to my mum for going to ayr for me and getting it done . got the numberplate for the back end and arranged insurance via shield direct £98 for the year paid on monthly dd and uk only call centres
jobs to do list before picking her up has shrunk dramatically
thanks to all on here for the advice and be prepared for more stupid questions
