Which is the best club to join? I prefer smaller sites so who has the best slection (CS or CL). Are they in popular locations and about how much do they charge?
I am in both and use the CL's & CS's of both Like everything there are good and mediocre in both clubs. Your best bet is to see who has the best selection of sites in the area you visit most regularly and join that.

most CS's may also accept tents , CL's generally only accept caravans and m/homes and t/tents. so it depends on what your unit is . assuming its a caravan then i suppose the caravan club CL's would suit you best
CCC has about 100 of it's own sites and a network of about 900 CS's, CC has a network of 210 sites plus nearly 3000 CL's. I do not know about CCC CS's but the CC CL's generally charge between about £3 and £8 a night ( including electric if it is avaiable ) with a few sites being cheaper and a few more expensive.

I use C &CC but also check on the sites info on our forum, which is fairly good guide. A couple of times this year, we have been on sites which are now run by franchisees. There is a subtle difference, but I feel that the sites are not quite as nice as when they were managed by C &CC appointed managers. We seemed just another number, and the friendliness was not so forthcoming.
The other "clubs" to consider are the manufacturer specific ones like the Bailey Owners Caravan Club (BOCC) as most of them will run rallies all over the country.
