We do most of our caravanning in the Winter and seem to be having real trouble getting a TV signal in the places we go to. We donlt bother with the TV in summer but in the winter when it is dark early I can't miss stictly come dancing!! We have one of those arieals on a pole but have real trouble tuning it in, Can someone explain to me very simply what we would need for a satellite signal please? Also how to set it up and approximate costs.

Just beware that the Maplins set up WILL NOT get C4 or Channel 5 at present. You need a Sky digibox and Skycard for that.

You can source a Sky set up that includes Digibox, Dish, sat finder, etc for around £50.

A Skycard is a one off payment of £20.

Ebay has loads of sat stuff.

Yes the Mapin's suitcase is superb...as long as you can see the sky to the south south east is is very easy to set up.

Last time out, I set it up, looked at the chap's next door, pointed mine in the same way and got a signal first try!

I believe Channel 4 and 5 will be available next year.
