had a eurotech for 2 days, bought it off ebay and when the ground was slightly wet it would just spin the wheel. moved the van about 4" and that was it. flogged it at a profit though.

I only want it for moving things round on my drive which is tarmac with a barely noticeable slope, both units are light by caravan standards - 450 Kgs & 750 Kgs max laden - I need something that can be used for both, not left attached to one.

Can't justify the expense of getting a proper mover fitted - had one of those on my last caravan and it was excellent (Rhyno) but looking for a cheaper solution that I can use on my Freedom and on my Combi if I need to move them and the kids aren't about to give a shove.

No good getting the one that has a separate battery - I would need a mover to move the mover!

Is a winch an option for you?  I guess it depends on what maneouvers you are going to be doing, as winches aren't as flexible as a mover.  We just used a manual winch when we had our Freedom, to get it up and down our sloping drive.  We used to push it on site, it was easy enough as pitches are usually fairly level.  I couldn't reverse it for toffee so all manouvers were manual!

Your van's are so light a full mover on the wheels is overkill so I would agree that a hitch mounted one is going to be your best bet if a winch won't work for you.

Hi,caz what about the purple line hitch drive thingy, you just put it in place of the jockey wheel and wind the handle and it moves manually,might be a tad cheaper but are quite good at the lighter van range

A winch wouldn't be any good for moving things round as I want to put things in different positions sometimes, in front of the house and up the drive. A friend tried the Purpleline thing but said it wasn't much good as you couldn't wind it and see where you were going at te same time.
