Hey thinking of doing the same thing will be my first time in bus over xmas. Looking at sites either west cornwall or dorset, so long as I can try an Ausie xmas in UK dont mind where. Any one interested in joining up with a solo VW (widowed and making my own way in life if you were wondering) . So long as I find a site with hot showers and a warm pub in walking distance then turkey stew and a cracker sounds like fun, quick question for the seasoned xmas camper how do you keep the party hat on when your on the beach?
Well the good news is my partner has finally said yes to going away at Christmas - with the help from the replies on here - Thanks!!. All I have to do now is find a site in the North East Area that is open at Christmas!! I can't wait!

Thanks twinone, but I was wondering if it's actually a problem with the weather we are having these years.
Perhaps it's only when it's frosty that you need butane.
I've known some winter weather warmer than spring and Autumn lately
Think you mean Propane for frosties ( red cylinders) .
Vanning all year round is great.
Can't be doing with all the commercialisation. No kids so------
Getting on a plane going to the Canaries!
Did it year before last, sunbathing by the pool on xmas eve, all the catering done . Have to come back on 30th as t'other half has to work otherwise we would stay for new year too!
We have thought about taking the van somewhere one year could be fun!
