Hi . if your warranty has run out and you don't get the caravan serviced one year does this mean your water ingress guarantee doesn't stand . i thought the water ingress was an entirely separate issue . warranty is for two years water ingress for 5 years .

according to one company if you dont get the van serviced your water ingress guarantee doesnt stand.

Almost certainly you will, at the very least, have to have an annual inspection. I can't see many dealers being prepared to do that and not do a full service!!! Or perhaps they would just charge to same amount as a full service.

I am pretty sure you have to have it serviced annually to maintain the water ingress element of the guarantee.  Your paperwork should clarify this.

The water ingress warranty on my Compass says very clearly that to maintain the warranty for five years the van must have a full service for EVERY one of those five years.

When I collected our new Sterling in July the dealer made a point of telling us that the caravan must be serviced according to the manufacturers timetable otherwise the water ingress warranty is void.

We also signed a form for the handover (a copy goes to Swift) stating that the warranty terms had been explained to us, and we accepted them.
