I often go into our van and lie on a bunk pretending we are away in it! Sometimes I close the door and imagine being at all the places we have been in it.

That's the thing about caravanning, wherever you take it in the world, it will be the same inside once you shut the door - taking your home with you. We like jetting off to the sun as well, but the hotel rooms (although very comfortable and clean) are no comparison to the caravan, where we feel totally at home and more relaxed. The caravan to us is an extension of home and it's like being at home and on holiday at the same time - ideal situation!

Emmo you should be writing books! I have never thought of it like that but now I have I agree with you. Our own bit of home wherever you take it! It sounds good and will keep me going throughout the winter months, although we are planning on going away for the coming weekend to 'try out' our new van.

I'm another one !  I've sat in the van trying to escape the world :)

I've had to take to hiding the keys as my mum keeps trying to move into it.  Over Xmas she sleeps in her van on the driveway. (next weekend is the great caravan reshuffle in the Evans/Wolfenden abode, mine goes to my Grandma's and mum's comes back from Anglesey where it has been since Feb!)

it seems I've been sad for 30 years :-)

It's a lovely useful spare room out there on the drive and sitting inside it with a brew or glass reminds us of some of the great times we've had over the years.

Sad? Ballcocks !

I've only ever met one really grumpy bloke in all those years, caravanners laugh/smile/say hello more than most people I know.

Ours used to be in storage and last year we decided to pave the back garden so we could have her at home.

Now every morning, even on the worst of days, I look out of the kitchen window and have asmile on my face and yes I go sit in it and think about the next trip.

UP ALL SADDO'S   I SAY, WE REALLY KNOW HOW TO LIVE!!
