Last year we returned to caravanning after a period of 21 years and have found that every site we have been on this year (and being retired we've been away every month) the people have been friendly regardless of what type of unit they have had.

I first started camping with my parents in 1950 and then continued with my husband and children until 1986 when we sold our Thomson Glennevis, moved to Cornwall and ran a B&B for 14 years, Sold up Built our own Bungalow (Living in a 33 foot Static, on the Building site for 18months.)  Last year bought a 1993 Abbey Piper Executive 2 berth and are as happy as pigs in muck.  No sooner do we return from a few days away, were ready for the off again.  I don't find campers and caravanners any different now to what they were years ago.

A smile and a good morning costs nothing.  If you get it reciprocated all well and good.

I have a 19 year old caravan and I DO look at other people's - I have serious caravan envy!!!  However, it's only because I'm curious/nosy and I love looking at them!  I'm the same with houses - don't ever ask me round for coffee because I'll be asking to have a look round your house too!! 

It's not jealousy, or snobbery imo, it's pure nosiness!!  I LOVE my caravan, but would love to be able to afford an all singing all dancing one.  I look at people's and think "wow, they've got a lovely one".

I'm like that too.  I can't help but look at what other people have got!  Most people are quite happy to let you have a nosy inside.  Or am i so thick skinned that i don't realise that actually they don't want me looking?!!

Mind you looking at other vans and their innards you can pick up some great ideas for you own unit.

Isn't that what ebay is for?  I look at the pics of the interiors and pick up some great ideas from there!
