Morning, appears alot of you have gone to Powrtouch product, have you arranged purchase and fitting directly with them? Im sure when i loked on their web site it was working our around 1k?
Hi mate , i can send you some info that will help you get a good price , i would recommend you have a gander before ringing Powrtouch . If you email me at bobanoba86 at hotmail.com ( note change the at for the correct symbol and no spaces ) i'll send it to you .
I rang them up and gave them a website that was doing an Enduro for £542. They agreed to match it over the phone. They did look the website up, but it only took a few minutes. Apparently they have price matched Ebay listings too. Maybe someone ought to put a new Enduro on for £200 fitted to see if they will match it.
We had a Powrtouch fitted to our new Wyoming by the dealer. It was a bit erratic with working and then not working. Hubby was not best pleased - a few choice words were aimed at it I can tell you. We rang the dealer, he rang Powrtouch, they rang us, sent us a box of tricks, and the engineer is coming on Tuesday 27th. Not the fastest response, but hopefully it will be sorted then. They think its an electrical problem. However, with price matching they were fantastic and we are generally pleased.
Arrived this morning. Just have to find the time to fit it. I have arranged to take the van into work Saturday afternoon / Sunday to fit it so at least I can keep warm and dry. Have a few other jobs to do as well. Looks straightforward to fit, although the fitting instructions are as clear as mud.
I have a power touch mover fitted to my van and am hoping to get it into my rear garden shortly. It will be fairly tight against a wall and I have been quoted by Power Touch £80 for a powrbar for DIY fitting. Is this an easy job to do?
The powrbar is a doddle to fit. It is just three lengths of box, one sleeves the other two. £80 is a ridiculous price for what is in effect a length of 25mm box section worth less than £10. I'm sure the website for powrtouch shows them at £50.
Having fitted one, if I ever needed another, I'd make it myself. It's just a length of box section with a hole at each end to bolt through the back of the actuators. It is made in three pieces and is telescopic so it can be slotted in without taking one of the motors off.
Any easy way to make one would be to use two lengths of 25mm angle which could be drilled and clamped this would mean there would be no need to make it telescopic. Just measure the space between the inside holes on the actuator and ensure the hole centres on the angle are the same.
Thanks for that advice Legsdown. When I get the 'van home I will check and see if I need one. If I do I have a brother who is ace it metal work I'll get him to look.
For my little van I got a mover from e-bay that replaces the jockey wheel, attaches to the battery in the front locker, and you steer it with a long handle - it's great,I can move the van round on the drive now without any help at all. It works just as well as the "proper" mover I used to have on my 5 berth caravan, at a fraction of the cost. Really pleased with it.
Don't know if it would be much good on a proper sized caravan tho'.
