Has anyone used this on their caravan tyres?

Any good?

Steve.

I have seen it demonstrated. I was at a caravan/motorhome bring and buy and there was some caravan accessory stands. One guy was selling ultraseal, to demonstrate its power he was stabbing a tyre with a screwdriver. The tyre did not deflate , you just saw a blue liquid seal hole.

Can't say I'd feel confident using it. If you did pick up a puncture and this stuff sealed it, I imagine the chances of a blowout would be significantly higher. But that's my opinion, I don't want any lawsuits from Ultraseal.

Even if you pick up a puncture with this stuff in your tyre will deflate a bit before it seals. So you know you have a puncture. But then you use your spare and get the other one fixed. It will save your wheel rims and stop you going out of control, It might even get you home, but you should not rely on it for the rest of your tyres life.

Motorcyclists use it as a fully deflated wheel can have you off in no time. But they realise they should not travel too far or fast before the puncture is repaired properly or the tyre replaced.

I use it on my work trailer as I have to go on some dubious sites, but I have a good check around every few days, which you should do anyway regardless of having it in.

Are you considering putting it in your car tyres?---you have as much chance of getting a puncture in your car as your caravan---

I have had a tyre sealant/puncture prevention in my tyres for a couple of years now and havent seen any evidence of it being used so not convinced. Main thing is regular tyre inspection, pressure, depth and condition plus a good feel for any bulges or debris in the tread. That is what I do on the cars. also give the tyes a visual check each day (use my torch every morning)

I was thinking of the caravan tyres. My car has run flat tyres, so doesn't need it.

Steve.

I am going to put it into my van tyres for next season as it is a single axle

i used to use it in my motorcycle tyres and it did work so if i was unfortunate enough to get a puncture in the tyre of my van at least it would not go flat straight away.

i don't really want the hassle of tyron bands being fitted

so will see how i get on

John
