do all bow air heating work on 240v? mines does not seem to have any switch, or at least I cant see one to operate it on 240 v and a small brow switch on the wall with 3 positions..a half moon, "A" and forget the other one
I have a slider with three leds and next to that is a normal type house switch with a red neon, but I think thats just for the water heater.have also looked at the back of the fire and can't see anything there
fire is Carver 3000 IIRC, works fine on gas ..but lost with this working on mains
Fraz, Carver invented the 240v blown air heating for caravans and introduced it for the 1995 season, before that the gas fire provided the heat and a simple 12v fan blew it about.
You have this earlier 'Truma-vent' 12v fan which is controlled by the matchbox sized brown box. the three positions are; on, off and Automatic. On, is simply on to the speed you set by the dial and it stays at that speed, 'A' for automatic is the same but the speed will rise and fall automatically up to a maximum speed set by the dial.
Your other two switches as you guessed are for the water heater, the one with the slider switch works the gas and the other is for 240v heating

The fuse is part of the existing brown wire that goes direct from the mains connection block to the pcb, the fuse itself is under the metal clip and inside the black sleeve in the middle. Unscrew the metal clip and discard the brown wire, clip and old screw.
Now use that screw hole with a new screw to fasten one end of the reset switch, the other new screw then goes in another existing screw hole on the other side of the reset switch. A dab of copper grease on the threads if you have it, makes tightening the screws firmly that much easier.
The two new wires in the kit then connect the reset to the mains and pcb, the cable tie supplied is used to keep the new mains side wire attached to the two black wires.
If your still in doubt feel free to give me a ring on my mobile number as I'm at the Cherry Hilton CC site... nice place as well
Yes Barry how many do you want? I had them especially made in Italy so had to buy a lot to get a reasonable price. One kit is £19 including postage.
PS, Papa Pip, I thought I was late finding this site although it seems a long while ago now because I finally got my last wigwam!, when did it actually start?

Started around 2000 I think and changed format to present type around 2001. I joined in 2002 at about 1200the and you were in 2003 at 10,000. So technically a bit later but as it is almost 2008 I reckon thats as good as in with the bricks. It was certainly in 2003 that things started to really take off. I know that a lot of folks would certainly be lost without yor advice! Me included!
BTW I've just had a phone call telling me there are quite a few secondhand Fanmasters available if I'm interested??, silly question really so if anyone ones interested in a fully overhauled guaranteed for 12 months Fanmaster? it would appear there are going to be quite a few available very soon!!
Turns out theres only 4 mk1 Fanmasters but quite a few Truma Ultra-Heat 240v heating units complete with TEB 12v fans as well as Truma 3002 gas fires. Most of the gear is very late to almost brand new.
Anyone interested in upgrading their van or just need spares can ring me on the number to the top left under 'outfit'.
I have a carver 1800s in my Elddis Hurricane and it was working fine on Friday evening. Using electric blown air heating. When I came to use it again yesterday, the fan was working, but only blowing out cold air.
I have looked at it today and the Heater works fine using gas and the fan is still working, but there is no blown warm air.
