Check metal areas for any local rust spots, and treat with an anti-rust paint. If galvanised metal, then paint with a galvanised-based paint.  If already painted, touch uptreated spots with similar coloured car paint.

Wooden areas (floor underside) can be treated with a wood preservative, but ensure it is not splashed onto pipes, wiring, tyres, or other mechanical parts.

Also thanks deldaydream for your comments,unfortuantly the rot has already got into the door section and I am in the process of stripping the wall out around the door,luckily that is the only place where I have a problem........... thanks for your comments

If it has been standing for a number of years I would make sure you do a full overhaul of the brakes, hubs and linkages.  I doubt they were greased or serviced as they weren't being used. 

first job is new tyres as well,four plus years they need changing anyway.
