Can't help you with your question, but a word of warning over the past couple of years there has been several occasions where both HGV drivers & campers, both in vans & motor homes who have parked & overnighted in lay-bys, parking areas etc have been “visited” by thieves during the night. The method they use is to spray a gas, “ used by vets for putting animals “ under “ during an operation, which is purchased “ over the counter “ in some countries new to the EU” into the air intake of the van / truck, the occupants fall into a deep sleep & bobs your uncle, or may be not. Since the introductions of the “ eastern block “ to the EU this problem has increased. I've just looked at a couple of Danish camping sites about the problem but I'm afraid there is no English translation. I am in the RAC recovery whilst in the Uk, However for the past 3 years and I have travelled to Holland (Twice) and it rained alot both times, Belguim,and France, and I have always had the same cover..The AA european cover..Why, I have been over all the policys on offer and all at various prices, the cheaper ones around £50 - £75 the small print is for limited periods, with the AA and RAC they both cover for the 12 months and will let you stay for longer than 30 days at any one time.
However, so far so good, I have not needed them so I can not comment on the service abroad, my recommendation, is check the small print.. ie. How long does the policy run for, can you go abroad more than once a year. Does it have everything I want.

I can vouch 1st hand on the AA European Breakdown cover.
We got an annual policy for when we went round Europe at the back end of last summer (the annual policy worked out cheaper than just covering the days we would be on holiday )
We suffered a serious breakdown halfway through our trip, in Germany (with caravan in tow). So we phoned the AA. A patrol man came out to us (spoke perfect English) within an hour, and got us to a garage for a better diagnosis. The patrol man acted as a translator between us and the garage, and basically it was going to be a big and expensive job to fix.
We spoke to the AA again, and they arranged for storage of our car and caravan, arranged hire cars for us to continue our journey, and when we returned home paid us the extra costs that we incurred from staying in hotels as oppose to campsites.
A few days after we returned home, our car and caravan arrived back on the back of a low-loader the AA had sent out to retreive them for us.
I can't recommend them highly enough.

I think that in the 90's both AA and RAC cancelled there connection
with a lot of the EU motoring organisations, something to do with cost
effectiveness, so to get help on mainland EU would be a pain, if it worked.
I think that most of the motoring organisations nowadays are only good for
tow-a-way service. But if your car was to break down then they would only
take the car and not the caravan. We had this problem about 12 years ago.
Head gasket blown on the car, caravan left on the side of the road. If it
wasn't for the help of a friendly farmer who towed us to his farm until the
car was repaired, we would have spent the night in the side of the road.
In Germany at least we have more repair workshops, car main dealers than
people I think. This also applies for caravans. We have a good trustworthy
main dealer here in Germany, who service and look after the car for us.
This we have done before our holiday, the same with the caravan. I can
remember the year before last near Trier on a parkplatz we met a couple
from Sweden with a sick Honda and a Eriba caravan. The car had a blown
the head gasket, and dumped all the water into the oil. Needless to say the
car wouldn't start. The driver, Ola, told me that he had noticed that the car
was not starting well, in Sweden back in march. We did manage to help him,
rang around for a Honda main dealer who would repair within the day.
So if you ask me, I would say save your money and invest in a set of
new tyres for the caravan.
