Hello and congrats on buying an Elddis we have a 475 and love it, the awning is measured from floor at the front, over the caravan along the awning piping and to the floor at the back, hope that helps, most dealers will be able to gove you the size details from the 550 and make of van.
Somebody else will come along soon and give you more detail, web connections and all that.

and buy an awning before i fetch it lol.... Its called an Elddis Select XL its a dealer special ... lovely though and just in time as my maurader has got a serious problem with damp...
