Are you talking about the hairpin bend on the A354?

I would say its easily negotiated with a caravan.  There is plenty of warning and as long as you don't try to take it fast, you'll be OK.  There is a 30mph speed limit on  the approach to it anyway.

Yes there is an alternative which entails going across country from Dorchester via Came Down, however it is a much worse road than the A354 so I wouldn't recommend it with a caravan.  I use it all the time but only when solo.  As Anne says the hairpin should be just fine, take it steady that's all.

I've towed up and down that road with the haipin.  It's not as bad as it seems - its the long drag into Weymouth from the bottom of that hill onto the by pass thats the pain.
The other route is the A353 through Osmington - easier for the East side of Weymouth (and the Haven sites) but may be a long way round coming from the West.    Dont use the B3157 coming from the West - there's some tight village roads down there!

Hi Devon Surfer

We went to bagwell farm last year and used the B3157 .A little bit tight in places but no problems and we even came back the same way after having been caught in the traffic coming out of weymouth to dorchester during weekdays.
