Hi all

Can anyone recommend these 'easy erect' lightweight porch awnings? We are looking for something light for weekend use and spotted these, are they any good? Any bad points?

Hi

Watch out for the ends of the curved horizontal pole that fits around towards the top of the awning.  The pole ends come close to the sides of your van and can put dents in the van in windy conditions!

- We used to have the Sunncamp Scenic Plus and bought some rubber awning suckers to protect the van at the pole ends, which did help.  We also avoided using our porch if it got very windy.

Some other lightweight porches don't have pole ends in this position and so might be a better option if this worries you

A handy little awning but, as previously stated, not good in high winds!

We tried the Scenic Porch, which we bought from Towsure, but had problems with the stitching of the top of the channels for the poles, which kept breaking away. We had a replacement one, but this did exactly the same. This was last summer by the way. We finally gave up, Towsure being very helpful in giving a refund, but each visit to Halesowen involving a 100 mile round trip. The concept is brilliant, but the standard size is pretty small, really. And there is a very great deal of pegging to do!

folks just bought a scenic plus and while going through to see all the bits were there it sems I have an extra pole, there is the 2 that form the crossover, another that forms the half round I also have a small thin one 4 sections long with rubber caps on both ends, note there is also 2 spare sections that could be handy

any idea what the small thin one is for

We have one of these.  It's similar to the Sunncamp Scenic but the pole rests on the awning rail rather than the caravan.  We had an Ultima 260 but lost it in the wind, so we were pleased we'd hung on to this one.  The Outdoor Revolution has withstood quite strong winds.

no mention in the instructions so dont have a clue, someone must have found a use for it as it is too thin for spare sections
