, We have a single axle caravan at the moment and have always used a bulldog caravan leveler, brilliant gadget we dont need it very much as a lot of sites we go to a flat, but when we do use it maked lift so much easier,
We are getting a twin axle, and i have read in some mags that you can use to of these levellers, then other places i have noted that the leveller is only suitable for single axle, so what does any one else do do you use two levellers, might have to go back to those blessed chock ones!!! But as we will have a mover as well levelling with them might be easier this time!! and we are not novices anymore!!!
What about these new ones i have seen that are wheel clamps as well as a leveller all in one, anybody tried them yet

Yes, always have 4 'planks' of wood of the necessary length sitting in the front locker. Have never needed anything else!

Two yellow plastic leveler ramps, back up to the top of one then place the other in front of the other wheel and pull forward so you are halfway up/down with each wheel.

Always use the yellow levelers, and the mover, never had a problem, but I do have some thick wooden pieces in the locker.

   To Ian and Jean

Read the Topic WE'VE TAKEN THE PLUNGE.

Message posted 26-11-2007 at 4-43pm by Tinny answering your question as regards levelling a twin axle. Its system I've used for years and its quite easy. The wood stores in the front gas locker and weighs very little.

Happy caravanning and we all had to learn all though there was'nt too many caravanners about when I started.

            Regards,       Graham R.

this is the advice from the 'we've taken the plunge' thread, this is what we use and so far it has worked fine.   We got the wood from the the remnants bit at B&Q and cost 80p

To: Dianebb72  ( we,ve taken the plunge)

Your require:   1 Board X  44inches long.

                      2 Boards X 11 inches long.

The wood that I cut was one and a half inches X five inches width.

I've then put a taper on one end of each board to facilitate mounting of each tyre.   this then gives me a one and a half inch lift or a three inch lift if short boards are used as well.

Another way is to buy 2 X Fiamma levelling ramps, but you really need twin axle motor mover to do this easily ( or good communication between driver and watcher)   Place one ramp either in front of a front wheel or behind a rear one, then motor the wheel up that ramp, when it is nearly at the top place your second ramp so that the bottom of its run up is touching the first ramp, now motor the mover abit further and the first wheel will drop down to the bottom of the next ramp.

You now have both wheels on the bottom of each ramp.   Motor or push van up the two ramps together until you are at your desired height.

I've done both with just the towing vehicle and a  (loud wife) or on my own with PowrTouch on leading axle only.   Yet to try this on my new 4 motor movers.

                     Happy Caravanning and enjoy it.

                     Graham R.
