I have already tried the Care-avan polish and shampoo although good, parts of the panel are still visibly dull under the polish. I think I will have to resort to a cutting compound. By the way I had the same results last year with Fenwicks products. It looks like Messrs Care-avan & Fenwick need to get their R&D depts working on a product that obviously has a market.

hello all, I worked with GRP for many years in the motor caravan trade and can tell you that if you do have grp panals that the MIRROR GLAZE system was the best, there is a cutting compound, followed by a glazeing compound followed by a wax polish, this we used in the process for all our moulds etc, although the liquid polywax is very good as a replacement for the final waxing, MUST stress  though before using such products do ensure that your front and rear panels are really GRP as most modern vans have abs plastic ones these days ........Mark

looks good i will try this stuff for the car

Thanks John & Mark for your replys,

I am waiting for a sample of care-avan polish to arrive at the moment if that doesn't work will try your recommendations.

Do you by any chance know if the surface has to be stripped of any previously added cleaners or polish before applying these products?

Richie

Hi all,

Well I said I would report back on the care-avan polish, and I have to say I am very pleased.

The care-avan polish has continued the work started by the International cleaners that I used last week, by removing more of the ingrained grey specks, but adding much more shine to the finish.

Although this is a slow process, I am starting to see very pleasing results, and can see that after a few more attempts I will achieve the "as new" finish that I am looking for.

I must say a big thanks to Derrick of Care-avan for his help, and am pleased to say that the polish does what it says on the tin.

Richie
