Why not have plug in gas like EHU? I've been caravanning for over 20 years. I've measured NW rigorously when we had twin axles. We were centre fold in Caravan Life with Andy Stothert a few years ago talking about the joys of simple caravanning and yet we still lug a heavy leisure battery around with us which we don't need. Even when we are on EHU. We carry 2x6kg gas cylinders with us weighing up to 15 kgs each, when we have a fixed microwave on board which will cook most things.

   Either I'm stupid or it's time to shed some of this stuff, Oh and lets leave the telly behind. I love caravanning passionately but surely we can slim down on weight and that has got to start with either investing in BP gas lite or calor lite or Camping gas and leave the battery behind.

Now now, I need all the equipment I can get.

With the van only weighing 704kg that gives me 296kg of equipment to find to bring it up to its max towing weight.

So now I will have to carry extra gas bottles, a bigger telly and a desktop PC.

Its home from home for us when we go away, I don't believe in the back to basics stuff, I go away to escape from the weekday drudgery of work, housework etc but I like my home comforts,but each to their own

Oh dear, sorry, I was being "tongue in cheek" earlier when I said I wanted more equipment to use up my 296kg payload. In a van of our size, it is obvious that we do not carry more than is absolutely necessary and as Roobee says, for us getting away in the van is for leaving home life behind us and doing things differnetly.
