Now the 2008 season is upon us has anybody any ideas on how to deal with noisy caravanners?
Went to one site last year only to have motorhome opposite playing mama's and papa's CD at an unacceptable level from 11pm until 1am. It only stopped then when my husband went to bang on the guys window and tell him to turn it down, was he right? has anybody had any experience with this? I do have to say that the management did'nt take our complaint seriously!
Not the sort of music you would expect to hear at volume at that time of night. Sounds like you found the oldest swinger in town. To be honest, I would be weary of banging on the door of someone playing loud music as they clearly have no concern for othres and would think nothing of issuing a bop on the nose. I would complain the the warden who has the power to remove them from the site.

we had this at martello bay in clacton a few years ago we moved site the next day free of charge and got our money back we didnt go to them we complained to the manager and said there is no way we are stayin here and we want to be moved and we was when we got to highfield they told us we done the right thing because the site was horendace and full of bad news travelers and this was by the mangers daughter who was workin in highfield so just be ware of what they are like when you get there and scout out for possibles
Name the site alkaz and we can all avoid it, if the management weren't interested in your complaint then its definitely a site most of us would like to avoid.
Why not join the CC or C&CC or find other sites where there is a noise restriction after 11pm and a warden or manager on site at all times so that if someone does play loud music late at night there is someone who can deal with it.
Theres certain types of site where you can gaurantee noise at certain times--ie coastal sites on bank hols like the one mentioned--you will often get several families camping together--it also depends what you call noise-many people will sit up drinking & chatting until 2am on these sort of sites-disturbing others-but they may think its ok to sit & chat--if you do your homework its obvious which sites might be noisy--
the nicest one i have been to is west bay in dorset they didnt seem to take any crap there and im young (27) but i cant stand all that party rubbish till 2 am and i wont tolorate it near me either as haven well no which is why i wont be using them again i mainly use park resorts now as we seem to get on well there and you get the respect from otheres
got to agree with Fatbum - use sites with noise regulations, the best I know is Sykeside in Patterdale - groups have to leave bond of £100 - if a complaint is made the bond is forfeited to the complainant. I used to get up and knock on the noisy unit and tell them to shut up - but then I had my border collie with me who used to keep bulls off me & any one else if commanded - my new dog hides so I tell the warden if necessary
