Our new Senator 6 is fitted with a High Security Door Lock, its that good it has locked us out of our Caravan the lock is totally jammed & the key wont turn in any direction. We have tried on and off for the last hour but no joy, fortunately we are not away & the van is on our drive.
Has anyone else had a problem with this type of lock?
Hi all, tried WD40 first, tried dealer need to ring after sales in office hours. The door eventually unlocked after many tries but it wont lock now. I'm sure they will say for me to take it in which is a pain because we are due to go away next Friday & i have no chance of getting anytime off work between now & then. Now that the van is unlocked i would much prefer them so send me a replacement lock through the post. The Mrs is not too happy as this could have happened whist being away & can't imagine anything worst than being locked out of the van on a dark cold night with child in tow.
Anyway see what dealer says in the morning, thanks for the replies.
Luckily as you say you werent away, Last week we went away in our van for the first time to get ready for the season , it was windy and the door blew shut with both if us being outside the caravan and the key inside, to our horror the door had somehow locked!! luckily had car keys in my pocket however i only had one caravan key which was now inside the van!! Other key is kept by the storage people. There was no way in as i had just shut the Heki roof light otherwise may have tried going in through there . The only option we had was to go back to the storage site and get the other key , thankfully we hadn't went far only about 40 miles so drove back got other key then back to site to get into caravan!! Now i will always keep a spare key in car or make sure i have key in my pocket. Just glad we where close enough to home , i was really angry and annoyed at time but now find it slightly funny and one of those memorable experiences
I now have a spare key hidden on the inside of the van where it is accessable from the outside without breaking anything.
lol, dont think the insurance co would be happy but we had a spare key in a magnetic box under the chassis for years and it never fell off.we do a lot of walking,or did,and its easy to lose your keys.have now fitted a very strong safe under the seat at the rear for extra money and all the spare keys including the car.do not have a magnetic box at the moment.silly thing is if your key or keys are in the van you may not be insured if broken into.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
It is actually hidden inside the van attached to a self adhesive cable clamp with a small cable tie, but where it can be accessed from outside by myself.
The wife and kids dont even know where it is or how to get it(they know it excists).
Called dealer Monday morning who then called Bailey. Dealer called me back & said its gonna need a new lock & can i take it in later this week, dealer 60miles away. I explained that this was not convenient due to work & that we are supposed to be going away Friday. Told them i would be happy to change lock myself as its only a 5min job, both Bailey & dealer happy with this, Bailey sent new lock by TNT & also gave courtesy call see if it had arrived & if all was OK.
New lock now fitted & even though its something that you wouldn't expect of a two week old Caravan. I am more than happy with the excellent service & communication from both Bailey & Dealer.
I work for the company that manufacture high security locks assuming the ones you are talking about are ours i can only say that we have had no complaints of any faulty locks so far. These high security locks are tested thoroughly in house

Hi Robbie
Bailey said that they had never had one fail either, Ether the barrel was completely goosed or there's a problem with both keys. The keys felt really tight in the lock & wouldn't turn either way. Anyway old lock on its way to Bailey in the morning.
Its good to hear that this isn't a common problem & my issue was a one off!
