We got ours in March at a cost of 18.00 but like bbr56 havent seen them around and worried that we may have to change it and then end up with the old type again!
Got one last weekend, cost £18, but didn't have the gauge on it to let you know how much gas is left in the bottle. Exchanged the old propane bottle for it, no problem.
I work for a large bottled gas company and we introduced lightweight cylinders for medical and now for some industrial gases as well, the problem is they have been so popular we have massive shortages on these and customers are having a real nightmare getting hold of stock, As soon as I heard about these new light cylinders I could tell there would be the same problems in time due to huge demand. The place where I work is bigger than Calor and we couldn't cope so what chances do they have really?
PLEASE DO NOT GET YOUR REFILL FROM SOUTHAMPTON CALOR GAS CENTRE, MILLBROOK ROAD, SOUTHAMPTON
I have just read this tread and notice that you are all paying £18.00 for a refill, I popped along this week with two normal 6kg empties, the girl in the shop said she only had one calorlite so i had one of each, but was charged £18.50 for the normal one and £22.50 for the calor lite,
I will not be getting them refilled there again.
I thought all calor refills charged the same price, would have shopped around first.
rip off,not got one yet.have given up hope.two caravan clubs i have been to have never seen one.calor said £18 is the cost not £22.50.come on calor we are all waiting.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
I can't see why everyones suddenly GOT to have the new bottles, we've all managed perfectly well before. Anyone who thinks otherwise just ask yourself what you'd have done for gas if calor hadn't brought them out at all?
We got ours from Anglia Gas Centre in Peterborough ready for this weekend as we had run out. The cost was £18.50 and it didnt have the GasTrac on it. When I queried this it seems that Calor's supplier has had a problem .... more like they didnt forecast the demand properly and ran out!

most need to reduce nose weight but for us as we only carry one 6kg bottle and these are half the weight i could then carry two without increasing the weight.

We bought two of these today at a cost of £18.75 each. We took in two old-style Calor bottles (one large, one small) and had them exchanged without quibble. This was at Salop Leisure in Shrewsbury,
I was amazed at how light they actually were - I even asked the chap if he had given us empty ones by mistake LOL
