i would open up and check everything first,you don't want to get to site and find something missing do you!!!!

you need a breathable groundsheet first,and also stronger pegs,for hardground,if needed.

have you a draught skirt for wheel arch etc. on van,these go on lower rail on van,stops the awning from blowing up with wind coming under van.

mallet for putting the pegs on and extractor for pulling them out.

i would not think it had ground pegs in the box so take some with you because without them you are snookered, do not forget the mallet as well.and a puller to get them out.check to see if it has any guide ropes too.i always use these to the full because the weather can change and we do not want to be fixing it down in the middle of the night.

we was quiet lucky when we got our van it all came with it a new awning dorema scirocco all storm straps pegs the lot curtains think we was a bit lucky really got a great deal from him as he was divorcing his wife and she wanteed the money from the van so he sold it to us for for 2000 less than it was worth

but i would check to see what is in the box as it could be a bit of a stress when setting it up and you have bits missing

Hi there the Pyramid does come with pegs but you would be advised to get half a dozen good strong pegs as the Pyramid only has the chunky plastic pegs and thin steel ones.The pyramid has clips on the corners of the awning  for use with the storm strap kit ,which is brought from pyramid or any dealer that stocks pyramid gear.The clips are a bit like baby,s pushchair clips one slots into the other.The kit is approx 15.00,which is worth it esp in this weather we used to keep ours on every time we was away (peace of mind).Check the box and make sure you have all poles and fittings to slide onto the awning,Get used to what poles go where before you go.

Nah seriously, as has been mentioned, open it up, check all parts are there, some good rock pegs, a sturdy hammer........ OH and the most important thing .................  cool beer. The tip about the coloured tape is a real good one, saves loads of time on the next trip.

I generally put up the centre pole and support first as that allows me to leisurely put the side ones up ( works for me anyway )

Unless you know it to have a storm strap included, I'd suggest you inest in one. I'd also take a proper hammr as well as your mallet. The main site we use is on sand so I carry two of those groundscrews people tie dogs to, I wind them in the ground with an adjustable spanner & fix my stormstrap to them.

Hi - yes we colour code our poles and find it helps.  We also do as Bryan above does and put us the centre pole and support first.  It works for us as well.

My hubby always has beer on hand.  He seems to need this more than an instruction manual!!
