Hi

Down sizing so have sold my Sedona and I have seen a lovely Peugeot 307 S HDi 90HBP Estate with low mileage 2005  .  But I am finding it hard to check the weight it can pull.  I have used 'Whattowcar' but can't find the exact model.

Parkers says the braked towing weight is1500kg but that seems high.

I am thinking of a 2 berth Lunar Clubman or Stellar or a Coachman Amara 2 berth. If weight allowed I would also consider a Lunar Quaser 462 EB

But at the moment I am going around in circles.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Our 406 estate is only allowed 1250 according to the handbook but I know diesels can be higher.

You could e-mail pergeot to check. Also re the kerb weight you could take it to a weighbridge and weigh it. I did that with our old Galaxy as the handbook only gave a range of kerbweights, not the exact kerbweight for our car.

Thank you all.  I forgot to say it is a 2.0 which gives me the problem.  It is not listed in the website in the 2005 section.  So if the car turns out to be a 2002 it is here.

307 Estate In production Kerb Weight KG 85% Weight KG Max Ball Weight KG Max Towing Weight KG
1.4 2002 1217 1034 60 1100
1.4 HDi 2002 1257 1068 60 1100
1.6 2002 1269 1078 60 1100
1.6 Auto 2002 1305 1100 60 1100
2.0 HDi 90 2002 1328 1128 70 1500
2.0 HDi 110 2002 1359 1155 70 1500

But again why is the 85% rule so low on a 1500kg Max tow weight.  Surely it should be more like 1350kg 85%.  I will ring the garage up and ask them to look in the handbook.  Also I like the idea of actually taking it to the weighbridge.  Do you have to have a full/partial tank of fuel?

Thank you to you all

Might be down to the chasis. Mine is lower than the maximum tow weight would be using the weight of the car.

It is based on an Astra estate and even tho the car would tow up to approx 1150 kg using the car weight it is a maximum tow of 1100 kg.

Hope that makes sense lol.

If the weight given in the handbook is exceeded you invalidate your insurance, Ours is lower than it "should" be.
