thank god we won tickets to the show on this site as I think the show was a rip off, we ended up going into the Hobby craft show as well to fill in time, the one thing we went to buy on the Paramo stand they had forgotten to take, no freebies to speak of, & a lot of exhibitors/ manufacturers from 2 years ago not there . Well thats me done grumbling, bought a solar trickle charger for the caravan battery from Maplins for £9.99 yesterday, and a C.O. detector (FIRE ANGEL ) from Focus
I agree with the ticket prices, I work for a company in the outdoor industry and we have seen a steady decrease in Suppliers there year on year.
It is down to costs, we had a stand of about 6 + 3 metres and it cost us over 8K for the floor space alone! almost 14k including the stand!
Customers have to pay 16 quid to enter plus 8 to park their cars and a fiver for a sandwich?
For us it is a loss leader but a chance to showcase out new products. It was originally set up for this reason, but having paid a lot of money to come, customers rightly expect bargains, which there are few of!

Are we talking about the show at Newark? We were very dissapointed. Thought there would be lots of caravans there, there was, unfortunately they were campers!! £6 per ticket and Im afraid we thought it was a rip off!
s' funny - it was our first time at the show and had a brill time. Mind you we had our 10 yr old with us and he had to climb up everything. Seeing his face before and after each event was reward enough. Mind you - if we'd paid for the tickets.......
£8 for parking was and still is a rip off, AND using the North CarParks when the show was on the south side - thats me only grumbles.
Hi cheekyboots, dont think this is a thread about the Newark show but, like you, we felt the Newark one was a bit pathetic! We went last year and I am sure it was better - this year it all seemed a bit half hearted. I bought a fleece but nothing for the caravan. We only live half an hour away so it was ok for an hour or so but if i had travelled to it from a distance then i think i would have been pretty miffed!
We travelled from Brigg, so not too far I suppose but far enough for what we felt was a poor show! Any more shows on anywhere that are more caravan focused? We expected to see lots of big names and be able to drool over the new vans!!
