should have been going to the caravan to-night we are seasonal in the lakes , however beloved daughter missed her flight from amsterdam this morning, shes managed to book another flight but landing at heathrow instead of liverpool , so my son who lives in london will bring her up to us along with the grandchildren so weather permitting we will set off in the morning glad we are not going to-night wind here howling. .

Well it looks like I'm the first one here to be backing out of going away this weekend. We were planning on going to Lowestoft but as our van is rather old and the heating system doesn't work and I don't fancy getting a touch of frostbite..!!!
Lets hope we have a better summer.
Mark.
I was here first in another thread and I'm definitely with you in your "camp" Mark. Apart from tomorrow when we're off to Oxford to meet some chums for lunch, we are firmly at home. A heavy snow warning is out right down the eastern side of the country on Sunday so I think anyone who's going to that area with a caravan might just be classed as slightly dotty.
You wait and see - just as the holiday is over and all the kids are back at school the weather will turn round and we'll get a mini heatwave just like last April.
Off to Drum Mohr in Musselburgh in Edinburgh, hope the wind is not as bad in morning looking forward to the Family Day on Sunday at Musselburgh Race Course.
We are off to Haven at Filey with the 3 grandchildren. Its the first outing for the Bonair trailer tent. Sod the weather let it snow let it snow the gandchildren will love it
We went to a seasonal pitch in Saltcotes. I must admit to being very surprised at the amount of caravans with people sleeping in the awnings. It became stormy about 9.00 pm on the Saturday night and I was genuinely worried about them because it was really windy and rainy and as the site is very close to the sea, the wind chill factor would have made it baltic. They must be hardy souls.
HI everyone, hope you all had a good easter despite the winter weather. We went to a CL in Littleport and due to the rain and snow we had to be towed off by the owner in his 4 x 4, only he got stuck as well and we were eventually towed off by a tractor. Still alls well that ends well, our caravan is now mud coloured, so we are waiting for some decent weather and a day off to clean it. We tried out our new porch awning which we bought at the NEC, and it stood up to the winds and torrential rain extremely well, especially as its only one of those lightweight ones. A change of scenery for us next week, we are away in a narrowboat for a week, so I'm praying for nicer weather.
If anyones away in their van have a good time, Cheers Ellababy.
