Hmm. Took my winter cover off today and found quite a bit of damage to the cover.
Two holes had been worn through from the awning rail at the bottom of the caravan and there were several patches of wear through one of the layers of fabric.
Also there was a hole in the top, looked like a burn from a firework?
I paid quite a bit of money for this cover, I wonder how many seasons I'll get out of it.
Any similar experiences?
Also how many of you can get it back in the storage bag?
Hi crypto, We have had our caravan cover for about 2 years now and we have similar problems, one was my fault rushing to put it on before the rain and realised 2 months later I had forgotten to unscrew my status areal top only finding out as the thing poked through....oops, but besides my miss hap the aluminum trims have worn the cover thin which to be fair could be a result of the foam pipe insulation coming off under the cover. I never realised how careful you have to be with the dam things.

I did manage to think about the status aerial, I obviously took the whole thing off and then I covered the remaining sticky up bit (dead technical) with a flower pot saucer. That bit was OK.
Next year I shall look a little more carefully and try to cover the sharp edges.

If its only a few months old & you have the reciept--take it back--
I think I might have a bit of a problem with that. I can't remember if there were any instructions with it but it's too easily damaged by careless fitting to consider a warranty claim. If the seams had all split then that would be a different matter.
Thanks for the thought anyway.
Gaffer tape is the answer. Black type is more sticky.
Had a cover for 6 years now and they are great IMO.
But you do have to be careful. I cover the drip rail end with small sponges gaffer taped to the body. Gaffer tape the foam inserts to the ends or the awning rail and cover the aerial top screw with a cap you got it gaffer taped. But this year (yesterday) on taking it off found some chaffing points here and there. In the past when i have a hole or thin patch i put YES gaffer tape on the inside. Works a treat. But the front windows do show a very slight marking from dust under the cover. Comes out with some cutting paste and polish.
Hope that helps?
Peter
Ive had my cover for five years apart from the the outside getting a bit stained with leaves dropping on it, it still works well keeping my van clean and preserved on the outside.

I've got some white gaffer tape, sorry to be so feeble.
