Anyone know of an easier way to fit these damn things without moving the van backwards/forwards 100 times
to line up the hole ?

Yes ,they look good but on a twin axle they are a pain in the ass to fit, we have got a routine now when back at the storage area, I reverse into position and O/H fits L/Hand lock unit ,I put all brakes on and jack van up (tried alco side jack crap,small hydraulic jack,not good and we now use a small trolley jack, ideal,) when jacked release brake and position R/Hand lock unit ,lower jack and release van from car and hey presto fitted in minutes (last time got bloody soaked!!!!, suppose could go back to my lovely milenco wheel clamp that is now sulking in the back of the shed (good thing too)

I was just wondering if all new caravans have these appropriate holes on chassis to be able to fit them to or is it only certain caravans

Best wheel clamp/lock have ever used, but our van is a single axle therefore with use of the mover its fitted in seconds.

Just ensure if you have taken a discount on your insurance for using a ALKO Secure they will not accept it being supplemented with any other clamp/lock, in the event of a claim you would be up the creek.

Blimey....what a set of whingers.....someone comes up with an idea that so far has defeated every attack made on them (apart from a televised mass assault with oxyacetylene cutters and the like.....) and people grumble about fitting them, or just cop out and dont bother. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, if my OH who is well past 65 years old, with gammy knees from a lifetime of floorlaying, can put them on a twin axle van with no bother, then I'm sure you young fit bods could at least try!!

We have a twin, the first one is fine to fit as we have a mover. We cannot jack up in our driveway as it slopes, so use a Nemesis clamp on the second wheel. When we are away we will take both Alkos as we will be able to jack up the van on site.
