Hi,

Got my Powrtouch 3 mover fitted last week and tried it out a couple of times.  To start with it usually works fine, but sometimes the remote stops working completely for a while and then works intermittently when it wants to.  It does however work perfectly if I plug the wire in from the control box to the remote. On occasions however, the caravan will carry on moving when I have let go of the remote! It has nearly hit both the neighbouring caravan next to me and my classic car stored on the other side of the caravan - when this has happened I have had to turn off the master switch.  It is quite dangerous and obviously I will be contacting Powrtouch asap.  If they won't help and sort it, I'll be telling them to take it off.  On one occasion I had to run round the caravan to get to the battery box isolater, and nearly got sandwiched between my van, that was still moving on its own accord and the neighbouring van!

I have tried several new 9v batteries in the remote which makes no difference.  I can't see anything nearby that would interfere with the reception between the remote and control unit.

Anyone else had similar problems? These intermittent problems can be a nuisance and a pain to solve, no doubt it'll work perfectly when the engineer comes!  Hopefully their customer service will do their best to sort this out.

Regards,

Richard

I can not help you with your problems, but i can tell you that the after sales service from powrtouch is excellent & I'm sure that they will have an engineer with you within a few days.

Has it ever "carried on moving" when using the wire to remote connection? If so, I would suspect problems with the remote control rather than the control box in the caravan - perhaps the micro-switches under the control buttons sticking on? I doubt it could be loss of radio signal from the remote to the van; I assume if the signal was lost, the van would immediately stop.....
Sorry I can't offer any more substantial advice!

Gram,

Apologies, I didn't make it clear.  It works fine when the cable is used.  I only have the run-on issue when using the remote 'wireless' with the battery in.

I'll be contacting Powrtouch asap.  Thanks for your replies!
