My van is sited on a field that has 6 amps (the other field has the other 10!). If I have the blown air heating on 2kw and put the kettle on (its 2200), it always blows the leccy. I've now learned to knock the heating down to 1000 if I want a cuppa!
I know this might be irrelevant because you're talking about internal power, but thought it might help!
