new to caravaning bought a 1997 avondale orion been away a few times in the winter allways on electric hook up, if i leave fanmaster blow heater on for over an hour even with nothing else electric on it trips the fuse in my van if i leave it on all day on slow setting it fine any ideas why it trips when on full speed thanks.

Yes it's overloading the electrical system in your van. We have a low wattage fan heater and kettle problem is the kettle takes ages to boil.

It runs at less than 1kw on slow fan and 2kw on full fan, thats roughly 4amps or 8amps.I've never known any internal Fanmaster fault to cause tripping

So I'm guessing it's either somehow been incorrectly connected to a 6A MCB in the fuse box or it's correctly connected to a 10A MCB and the MCB's faulty.

My van is sited on a field that has 6 amps (the other field has the other 10!).  If I have the blown air heating on 2kw and put the kettle on (its 2200), it always blows the leccy.  I've now learned to knock the heating down to 1000 if I want a cuppa!

I know this might be irrelevant because you're talking about internal power, but thought it might help!
