Hi, we have just bought our first caravan and the toilet fills from the water tank rather than one of those that you put the pink stuff in - does anyone know what I can/can't clean the toilet with? Can I use ordinary toilet cleaner from home for example?
we had one like that in our Emerald. I used to put some pink in the bowl with water occasionally and leave it for a bit, otherwise I just used soapy water. Do not use domestic toilet cleaner, the seals will not like it

I have had my system similar to the one you describe for 5 years now, it's much better than the older system. We simply put blue chmeicals in the cassette and do nothing else. We wipe the bowl and the surrounding area regularly with a cloth that has a bit of flash on it and since the shower is right next to the toilet when we wipe out the shower the sponge gets squeezed out into the bowl and then the bowl wiped over with the soapy water. We have never had a problem yet and the loo is spotlessly clean and sweet smelling.

Hi and welcome poggiepie to UKCS, this knowledgeable site will give you all the help you will need , just remember not to use household products in the caravan toilet as they are harsh and full of bleach and other nasties this is a no-no on campsites, and it's not green, bleach will also damage the seals in your toilet. Choose any of the main makes as it's all a matter of taste and price e.t.c.----omf

But then you would say this wouldn't you? We may not like your so called green stuff because we think it doesn't work as effective as Elsan but your shampoo and polish is terrific!

Hopefully you took it in jest. At least you don't plague us with emails about your products which is why you are still top of my list for polish etc.
We're big fans of Top and Tail, I tell all my friends to use it!
Works on many levels - Smells nice, environmentally friendly, and you don't have to fiddle around with two different bottles, trying to remember wot goes where.

Hi ., Elsan must think it's a winner it's taken them ten years to catch up----- see the other fred--- Organic toilet fluid--- and many THANKS---OMF
We use Dettol wipes (no bleach) and if you want, if you have any, make up a weak solution of the 'pink' stuff in an old squirty bottle (as the Fenwicks one) and give the loo a spray as and when.
