What a simple awning to erect! Had it for a year and loved it. One gust of wind this school easter holiday put it in the bin. It ripped away from the bag and the wind wasn't even that strong! Just a word of warning.

We used ours for the second time this easter holiday in the new forest not that windy and ours also ripped away from the bag thought it was such a simple easy to erect awning but it was just a waste of £150

Same here!

Three trips in, and a gust of wind decided rip it from the bag whilst i was trying to take it down.

I had only just managed to figure a way of stopping the rain from sagging on the roof. (Run out every five minutes with a long brush!)

Just kidding, but i did have to really strap it down to stop water forming.

Going for a proper Awning this time...

Anybody want to buy a dodgy porch awning??? it got a nice roof vent on one side and includes a new natural rain shower facility

We are thinking about purchasing a porch awning.  Have seen a Pyramid Light Weight Caravan Porch Awning on ebay, no 300219438860.  Is this the same thing  you are all having problems with.  What do you mean by it ripped away from the bag??

Thanks

We have a full awning but its too much hassle just for a weekend.  Do you find a porch awning draughty cos am I right in saying there is nothing to attach the sides of the porch to the actual caravan.

We use it for the purpose a porch to leave our pushchair in, hang coats, we put our microwave in there on a table a few chairs and to leave ur muddy boots in.

I takes minutes to put up is out of the way on the side of our van (with all the cr*p we take we have no room for a full awning! we have had it up in some VERY windy weather over new year and a hill on the coast in weymouth in march and we have had no problems.

There are no drafts from outside as it almost double backs on its self so you cant see outside or anything if that what you mean?

We had a pdq when they first came out, the zip ends fell apart after one weekend, took it back for a refund.  We now have a Sunncamp Ultima 390.  Much better. OH loves it.  We normally can't be bothered with awnings, but this one goes up quite quickly without swearing!

You have to get the knack of getting it snug against the van though!  The layout of our van also means that one end is halfway across the back window.  If we'd gone for the smaller one it would have been in the middle of the cassette door.

They're not for everyone, but they're very popular.
