The sad thing about this is its going to hit everywhere the, farmers who have diversified and opened sites in the face of the European Agricultural Policy. The shops in the tourist areas, the caravan industry itself, I could go on the list is endless. The saddest factor is lot's of hard working people are going to lose their livelihood's and more. Lets hope someone see's sense soon.
Even over here on the Costa Blanca, Spain the price of diesel has shot up to €1.18 per ltr, luckily we dont use our car much as our work is within walking distance.
just had a trip to preston and prices of diesel varied from 118.9 to 129.9 and im not talking motorway services.took my transit t90/350 semi high top. 1/4 ton of plaster in it all my tools. stuck to 60 covered 238 miles and used just under 1/2 tank of diesel so it pays to ease off the pedal.my navara runs on svo 79p per litre.
Two local filling stations close to me that are about 400mtrs apart diesel in one £1.18 the other £1.23. The latter, the price seems to every couple of days.
------------- I do the towing so it must be my turn to wash the van and clean the inside!!!
I know it's still cheap compared to the GB but our wages over here are about the same in euros as the wages in pounds in the GB so still a big rise compared to a year ago when it was about €1..... still much cheaper over here for car tax, etc, though so I'm not complaining!
