I"ve been with e&l for the past 3yrs ,luckily not had to make any claims.
I happened to read the threads about e&l the other day on this forum and became a little concerned ,so today i have just cancelled my policy and have managed to get it just over £10 a month cheaper with the caravan club.
My advise would be to take note of the peoples experiences off this forum ,there seemed to be an awful lot of complaints about this company.
Hi Chris Lie others have said E&L have had a lot of negative comments on here. I insured with CC for a number of year until last month when i had issues with their renewal price. I now have a like for like new for old policy with the C & CC & saved myself £100 on what CC quoted me. It pays to shop about.

we got our insurance with e&l , after reading reviews on here we are going to cancel and pay the difference with a better named, recommened company. I think recommendation is more important than cheap quotes
I wonder if out there somewhere is a person who is insured with E L and have found them to be great company, because so far no body seems to defend them and say how good they are etc, yet they keep advertising there policy and rates for caravaners etc. so somebody must be using them and giving them some business.

We have insurance with the Camping & Caravan Club, and we found them very good when having to pay out for damage when the awning fell down and put a dent in the side of the caravan. If you sustain any damage always take photographs of the incident and send them with your claim form.
DON'T DO IT! Avoid them like the plague. Do a search for other posts that mention the nightmare people have had with them.
They provide cheap quotes to entice people in (which nearly happened to me) and then start doing all sorts of strange things to get extra money out of you. Also, their claims service doesn't look too hot and coupled with their dodgy small print - simply avoid, pay a little bit extra for a known brand that you can trust.
E&L provided a quote for £100 for a 1993 Bailey Scorpio Auvergne CD and I eventually went with Caravan Guard who quoted £125 for much better quality of cover and their claims service has very good reviews on this site. It's not all in the premium... Also the people that I have spoken to in Caravan Guard (3 different members of staff) are all caravanners too, so they know what they are talking about which is a big benefit being a newbie...
