I think you might need to get a mobile caravan mechanic out to have a look.  Once he has diagnosed the causes of your problems and given you a quote, you can decide whether to get the jobs done professionally or try to fix them yourself.

Personally, I am not that good with DIY so I would have to save up and get an expert in to do it for me.

Ive been rennovating an old '88 (Compass Rally) since March and have encountered most of these problems.

It's worth searching these forums, (and google) for some very detailed answers from the guys and girls of the 'fix it club'

1) Gas fire problems (best to get someone who knows in for this one. It's always dodgy dealing with Gas).

2) Floor dipping - usually 'delamination' search for this, and you'll find plenty of methods to fix this. there are kits for sale and with a little time and effort can be fixed pretty easily.

3) You have electric (I assume 240v Electric Hook up) but have you got a leisure battery? As a newbie, I spent many a night scratching my head trying to work out why the lights didn't come on, but my lamp worked fine when plugged into the 240v socket?. All the 12v lights usually work from the battery (once charged up fully) Alternatively it could be a 12v fuse blown and needs replacing. Find out what zig unit you have and speak with your local caravan dealer/spares shop. They;ll tell you how to change it.

4) Again if your tap is electric pumped, then it might be the pump, but may also be related to your lights issue. check the feed from the leisure battery, and then check the battery is charged up. If all OK it might be a shared 12v fuse.

Good luck, I hope that's given some pointers... I think you'll find more people out there with some good advice to add...

1st gas fire will light but goes out when i let go of switch
This is probably a faulty thermo-couple , how long are you holding the knob in for ? , try 20 seconds .

2nd floor is dipping when walked on. This is delamination see Here to fix it .

3rd have electric in the van but no lights work (i am doing my essays with a miners torch on my head). Most likely is your 12 volt caravan battery is flat .

4th my tap no longer works. Same as 3 above
