Hi
The electric heating system on my Abbey has packed in, The wall thermostat seems OK. It points to the overtemp stats attached to the heater. (the heater works fine on gas)
Has anyone had this problem or changed/replaced overtemperature cut off thermostats for a Truma Ultrastore electric heater.
If so was it difficult.

With regard to the over-temp switch fitted to the Ultrastore, when it trips, it disconnects the mains to the element but also connects and internal element which keeps the switch above the threshold it will switch back again.
So the important thing to remember is, it must be totally disconnected from the mains until it does cool down and switch back, switching back to early will instantly re-heat the switch and you will need switch off and leave it again... but this time for longer.
Better still, often this happens when people rely on the hookup to switch it off, make it a rule to actually switch the heater off before you leave site the last time out. Now next time out if you plug the hookup in before filling the water tank it won't trip?!
