I certainly think she'd think twice before saying anything to anybody again! The police may have been called, I can't say for sure that they weren't.
As far as calling them myself, I didn't have a mobile and not knowing the area didn't know where the nearest phone box was. The weekends away caravanning are definetely mobile, laptop and work free! You get to a point where you assume that somebody else involved (i.e. either of the parties) will involve the police or as you say the campsite owner, Margaret.
I know I get angry when I see people throwing litter out of cars - there is nothing worse and it probably gets me more worked up than when I see somebody speeding...but I definetely think that handing him his rubbish back or simply making him very aware that you're picking his rubbish up and throwing it away on his behalf (i.e. making it very clear to everybody around that he has dropped rubbish so as to embarrass him and hopefully stop him doing it in the future). It seems to be a better way to go rather than the confrontational putting it down his shirt.
Still, it's an odd world where we "accept" this kind of behaviour and do very little to rule it out. This guy will eventually be somebody's dad and it makes me cringe to think what those kids will turn out like!
Scary world for sure...well it hasn't put us off caravanning as we have found a great little spot in Derbyshire that was very peaceful! Woke up yesterday to the sound of sheep and birds and nothing else!
