We have an Avondale Dart 460-2 which is only 7.1ft wide. Luckily when we moved house it did fit down the side of the house, between the house and the fence. However when I have been looking at vans for the future, I am struggling to find anything so narrow. I know Avondale go to 7.2ft wide on the larger models and I would like a fixed bed next time. I feel however that we may not be able to have one due to the width. Obviously we can keep this in storage but I dont want to have to do this anymore, I like having him at home. We do lots of weekends away so much more convenient now not using storage, and cheaper. Anyone know of any caravans that are narrower or are we going to struggle. I fear even a 2 birth may be a problem if they build them wider in the future. Maybe we may have to tun to a folder trailer tent??...

Eriba and Rapido later model Club series.   (now called Trigano)

Narrow and light.  pop up roof might even store in your garage.  Folding caravans can be wide and heavy.  Trailer tents, would you like a tent on wheels?

I don't think you're going to get a fixed bed in a narrow van. I know a few folk who go for the 4/5 berth and keep the double at one end made up, raher than having a fixed bed. You may get one like that a bit narrower.

Lunar Arriva at 6ft 8ins is narrowest I know of, but it only comes in 2 berth, unless you look at pop tops like the Trigano Silver range or Eribas.

Fleetwoods start at 7 ft 3ins.

Have a look at the specs of different vans on the dealers websites - follow the links here.

We saw a Caravelair in Holland that seemed very narrow.   Not sure if they sell these models in the UK though.

Any updates since last post? Situation is the same for me. Want a narrow 4 berth now but can't afford Eriba.

I had considered all the baby vans. First choice would have been Eriba (expensive) then Freedom or Teardrop. OH in his wisdom says it will be false economy because although we could manage space with one baby grandchild the likelihood is more will follow. I have deferred to his wisdom and agreed a conventional caravan (boo hoo) makes more sense. It has to fit up our drive though which is fairly narrow.

The Lunar Venus range ticks all your boxes and comes with a fixed bed or twin singles in the longer models, they are also a very good specification for an entry level caravan, bright and modern inside and light enough for most family cars to tow.

We spotted the two berth being towed behind a diesel Yaris on our last trip out to Norfolk, and it seemed to be making good progress without slowering down the rest of the traffic flow.

The downside is that at the moment, finding a secondhand example would be rare, although there maybe a few of this years model up for grabs in the autumn clearance sales at a bargain price.
