Thank you all for the good wishes and brilliant tips. Unfortunately most of the tips had been posted after we left .... BUT the good news is everything was fab.
The roads we travelled on are well known by OH so he was less nervous and drove them superbly. We arrived at the site and the owner said he would watch us back as we reversed. OH was rather grey looking at this point as he had not reversed it before. He did a fab job with the help of the owner.
We did however have a 10 second panic when I thought I had left the keys at home but luckily we found them.
Our first trip went well and the first night was also great fun. We didn't put our porch awning up as rain was forcast and we would be taking it down again the next morning so didn't think it worth putting up.
The drive home was another good one and hubby (now a lot more confident) actually reversed the caravan onto our drive superbly. I am so proud of him as he has never in his life towed a caravan before and seems to have taken to it like a duck to water.
Just hope the second trip is as good.
