just wondering due to high rent rise in summer siteing i am thinking of having to get rid of my van. some one has said why not rent out in hight season ie summer holidays as i do not go to van then too many kids but like it off season when quiet.
what are the good/bad points to this?, as the van suits us, but would other people be willing to rent it for a cheap break?. any feed back please. joan.
The only downside I can see is the repairs. When things get broken it's very hard to say who damaged it. We rent ours out on a seasonal pitch. When we first started we rented out to strangers(bad idea). Quite a few things got broken, blackout blind for front window had gash in it. A plate got burnt. A lamp got broken, need I go on?? We couldnt say who done it due to the fact we didnt see the van before the next occupents got in there. Now we just rent out to close friends & family, that way we know the van would be looked after. We rent it out(cheap) for week-ends & weeks.
------------- I'm just a slave to the outdoor life!!!!!!!

I wouldn't dream of renting our van out. The thought of having possible disrespectful strangers in our van does not appeal to me what so ever. If seasonal is too expensive why not take off site & just Tow & use when you want too. Even if you have to pay a couple of hundred pounds a year storage, its still got to be a fraction of what your paying for your seasonal pitch.
Considering the amount of damage users used to do to our static, I wouldn't rent our tourer out to anyone for love nor money. A lot of the people who rented our static were people we knew, they must vent a lot of stress out when they're on holiday in someones static.
