Hi!

In a bid to make setting up ever quicker, less painful and less argumentative, I've decided that I need some kind of shelving unit in the wardrobe.  At the mo, I pack collapsible boxes at home and then put them in the wardrobe when we get there.  The problem with this is that I have to lift the top ones out to get to the ones underneath.  This isn't a huge job but it would be great if it was easier!!  I've thought about a plastic drawer unit that I can assemble on arrival, having already packed the drawers.

Something like this: http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-1428744-10294381?url=http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/0176594/Trail/C%24cip%3D1500010971.Furniture%2Band%2Bfurnishings%3EC%24cip%3D1500011031.Storage%3EC%24cip%3D1500011033.Storage%2Bunits%2Bwith%2Bdrawers.htm

Anyone do anything else or got any ideas?

Thanks!!

All I can say is that we've tried this one, plus the folding crate, plus the 'everyone has their own bag' I dont think we'll ever find the best way....but will keep trying.  Will be interested in your replies too because there are 6 of us need a great solution!!

I think the drawers seem to be the best idea - however if you need to pack at home, the drawers could be a pain to put in the car? so the stackable crates  - suitable to go under the seats etc, might be the best option. we do tend to leave pants, socks PJs and a limited amount of clothes in the van all the time, just need top up stuff then when we go away.

Thanks all for your replies, I'm going to give the drawers ago as space in the car isn't a problem.  The sooner I can sit down with a cup if tea/large G & T the better.  I'll let you know how they go!

Have you thought of Ikea, they do a metal frame with wire baskets that slide right out, you could leave the frame in the van and pack the drawers. Its really sturdy but you need to measure it I bought it for my van but it was too wide for the wardrobe so my friend took it and it fits hers perfectly. I'm still left with a big wardrobe and stacking boxes. I wish manufacturers would give an option to have factory fitted shelves instead of a huge hanging space.

Hope this link works - not tried to do it before! Go to Page 3, the last item - white stacking storage boxes £17.99. Easy to assemble, can be stacked or used separately, with or without the castors. I got a set a while ago and was so impressed I got two more. I have one in the bedroom, one in the bathroom for towels, and one in the kitchen for my cleaning stuff, they're great.

Thanks ian and jean for that but I'm really after something that I can pack in the house, transport in the car and literaly 'throw' into the van when we arrive.  I've been out to measure the wardrobe today and my first choice of the Ikea antonius storage system is too wide!  Have therefore gone back to plan A and plumped for the Argos plastic drawer unit!!
